Styria:
The green heart of Austria

Enjoyment between glacier and hot springs

Winter in Styria

Styria’s powerful attraction comes not only from it’s white season but also the colourfulness it has to offer. It is not just the excellent winter sports offers; health services; culinary strengths or a multitude of top-quality events. It is about the healthy blend of all these areas.

The cold season can be explored between the white mountains in the North and the hot thermal springs in the South. There are 813 km of slopes but the best- known winter location is Schladming. Snowboarders can find their slopes on the mountain Kreischberg, at Stuhleck the good old skiing technique of the turn of the century can be practised and at Ausseerland one can get from the thermal spring directly to the cross country course. With its 14 locations marked with the cross-country trail stamp of quality, initiated by world champion Stadlober, Styria has developed into an expert for cross country skiing in Austria.  Nine thermal springs and innumberable health hotels provide for pleasently warming oneself up in winter.
