Signing of the contract was sealed SO World Winter Games in Österreich
On October 15th 2104 another important milestone concerning the preparation of the Special Olympics World Winter Games, which are going to take place in March 2017 in Austria, was set in the Hotel Hilton Vienna Plaza: The official signing of the contract between Special Olympics International, represented by CEO Janet Froetscher and the organizational commitee of the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2017, represented by president Hermann Kröll.
Furthermore, the Minister for FamilyAffairs MMag. Dr. Sophie Karmasin, member of the National Parliament Hermann Christ, US Ambassador Alexa Wesner, Mayor Mag. Siegfried Nagl (Graz), Mayor Jürgen Winter (Schladming), Mayor Rainer Angerer (Ramsau), Mag. Markus Pichler (CEO SOWWG 2017), Marc Angelini (CEO SOWWG 2017), athletes of Special Olympics, media representatives as well as the OK-Team of the SOWWG 2017 were present.
AUSTRIA AS AN EXPERIENCED HOST
Already in 1993 the Special Olymipcs World Games took place in Austria- back then for the first time outside the U.S. In 2017 the SOWW will take place in Austria again. Next to Austria, hosts of this worldwide biggest sports and humanitarian event include metropolises like Nagano (2005), Shanghai (2007), Boise (2009), Athens (2011), Pyeong Chang (2013) or Los Angeles (2015).
